Surface and Reflection Consortium

We often inhabit the same space, yet what we see – and how we see it – is unique. Perception is not passive. It is an act of creation, shaped by attention and the boundaries we choose to draw or diffuse between ourselves and the world around us. In this shared sphere, we seek to understand what happens when we become aware that others may be looking at the same space, but not necessarily seeing the same thing?

At this point reflection becomes a bridge. What is truly being seen? And how does the fact that others may be pondering the same question – at the same time, in the same space – alter its texture and the way it feels to inhabit it?

We will post updates throughout the course of the research on this page. Any urgent or time-sensitive matters will be communicated directly by post or email to those it concerns.
